I was born and raised in Central Louisiana and grew up learning to fish impounded lakes such as Rodemaker (also known as CLECO Lake) and Toledo Bend. With the help of my dad, Floyd Pittman, it was on these lakes that I came to understand the sport of bass fishing. I began tournament fishing with my dad at the age of eight and haven’t looked back since then. Whether it was slowing down a retrieve or ripping a rattle trap out of the grass, he always had time to show me how to do things. After developing a knowledge of reservoir lakes, my family was transferred to southeast Louisiana in 1988. Settling in on the Northshore of Lake Ponchartrain, I began to learn about tidal waters and its’ effect on local game fish. I truly believe that it was God’s intentions for me to learn and understand how bass behave in different types of waters. Learning to fish impounded lakes and coastal locations has enabled me to become a better fisherman.
In the fall of 1996, I began my professional fishing on the Bassmasters Tournament Trail. Since that time, I have competed in the Central Division of the Bassmasters, along with numerous other state and local events. Over the past five years I have averaged five to six tackle/boat shows as well as four speaking engagements a year. I have spent over 200 days on the water for reasons ranging from tournaments and TV shows to media relation events as well as charity fishing trips.
